Proximal realignment procedures include those performed above the patella in attempt to better align it with respect to the trochlear groove of the femur.  These procedures include:

  • Lateral Retinacular Release
  • VMO Advancement
  • Medial Reefing
  • Reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL)
  • Medial Plication
  • Galleazzi procedure
